After 7 years of the One Phat DJ podcast and 50 shows of Funky House Finesse, we’ve decided it’s time to make some serious changes.

I’ve decided to take a sabatical from producing the regular shows due to a combination of things, the main one being the pending arrival of my second child. When I had my first child back in 2006, I worked hard to keep the podcast going but it was a real test due to many other commitments. I learned there’s only so much one man can do so rather than pushing myself, the sensible thing to do is take a break.

But do not worry – that’s not to mean it’s the end of Funky House Finesse. It’s time to hand over the reigns to some good friends of the show…

Starting September, the talented duo that is Matt Tsang and Stuart Braybrooke, otherwise known as the Souljackerz, will be continuing the regular format with their own taste of funky house delights. The guys have co-produced some amazing tunes over the last few years, won countless awards and been on tour around Ibiza’s super-clubs. You are in safe hands – I am confident you will not be disappointed (quite the opposite if I’m honest).

We will be launching a brand new website to accompany the new format so watch this space or keep a keen eye on Facebook and Twitter for announcements. Those subscribed to the podcast should not notice the change so we’ll be sure to mention it in a future show.

Before all that, I need to wrap up my sprint with my last show – and have I gone all out or what?

Not content with two hours, I’ve decided to go for a whole 3 hours of stonking funky house including an hour of long time favourites. How does that sound?
